Women's Tennis Picks Up 6-3 Win

KERRVILLE, Texas – The Howard Payne women's tennis team picked up a 6-3 American Southwest Conference win Thursday against Schreiner University.

The Lady Jackets started the match by taking the number one and three doubles 8-2 and 8-5. HPU added additional points in the 1, 2, 5 and 6 singles matches to round out the 6-3 win.

At number one singles, Gabi Crunelle defeated Teresa Gaitan 6-0, 6-1. In number two singles, Joan Burks defeated Lynne Collenback 6-0, 6-2.  Number five singles Emilee Stephens defeated Lindsay Fox 6-2, 6-2 and number six singles Samantha Guerrero defeated Becky Chiaro 7-5, 1-6, 10-8.

Howard Payne is now 5-11 overall on the year and will travel to Abilene on April 10th to play McMurry University at 2:00 pm.
