SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Howard Payne men's and women's cross country teams competed this weekend at the Ricardo Romo Invitational hosted by the University of Texas San Antonio. Shelby Byrd and Sean Locker were the top finishers for HPU.

Shelby Byrd finished with a time of 26:54 in 76th place at the 5K distance. Tylene Middleton was just behind her in the 78th spot with a time of 27:08.1. As a team the Lady Jackets finished 10th.

Sean Locker finished with a time of 19:39 for 55th place in the 5K race. Bobby Estevis was just behond him with a time of 19:44.9 in the 57th spot. The Jackets finished 8th as a team.

The Howard Payne teams will run next at the Texas Wesleyan Ram Ramble on September 22nd in Fort Worth, Texas.
