WSOC Loses To UT-Dallas 3-1

BROWNWOOD, Texas - Howard Payne tied the game a 1-1 on a Katy Nix goal in the first half but the Lady Jackets went on to lose 3-1 to the University of Texas-Dallas Friday afternoon in conference action.

After UT-Dallas scored in the 9th minute on an Eboni Udenze shot, HPU's Katy Nix answered with a goal from 25 yards out over the keeper's extended hands. Haley Clanahan's pass out to Kix brought the game to a 1-1 tie just 10:27 seconds into the game.

UT-Dallas brought the score to 2-1 with a goal in the 42nd minute. They would then in the second half extend their lead to 3-1 with another Ubenze goal in the 57th minute.

Adrienne Walker got the loss for Howard Payne playing all 90 minutes and recording six saves.

The loss moves Howard Payne to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in ASC play. UT-Dallas stands at 4-1 overall and 1-0 in conference. The Lady Jackets will play host to the University of the Ozarks on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
