BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne women's soccer team got two goals from forward Leslie Jones but still fell in their regular season opener 3-2 to the University of Dallas Sunday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Field.

The Lady Jackets led 1-0 at halftime after Leslie Jones netted an unassisted shot from 20 yards out in the 34th minute.
Jones got her second goal of the day on a penalty just 2:30 into the second period. UDallas would rally and score two over the next five minutes to tie the game at 2-2.

UDallas would score the game winner in the 79th minute on a pass across the middle that found the net.

Adrienne Walker played all 90 minutes in goal for Howard Payne recording three saves.

The Lady Jackets will play at home next against Texas Wesleyan University on September 4th at 6:00 pm.
