VB Falls 3-0 To #25 Southwestern

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team lost 3-0 (25-22,25-17,25-17) to #25 Southwestern University in non-conference action Tuesday at the Brownwood Coliseum.

The first set was the tightest of the night with Southwestern taking it 25-22. HPU's attack pct. would dip in set two leading to Southwestern securing it 25-17.

The Lady Jackets would hit their best in the third set with a .258 attack pct. Southwestern still won the set 25-17 and the match 3-0.

Jordan Taylor led HPU with 11 kills. Hannah Hick and Sarah Bishop followed with 9 and 8 kills respectively.

Allyson Reed had 12 assists and Jessica Guerra added another 11 assists. Shelby Bridges had a team high 11 digs.

Howard Payne is now 8-9 overall and Southwestern stands at 12-4 overall. The Lady Jackets will play next in a non-conference match on September 28th at 7:00 pm in Irving, Texas versus the University of Dallas.
