WSOC Drops Match 1-0 To Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Southwestern University in non-conference action Tuesday evening.

Both teams were scoreless in the first half. It was Southwestern that got the game winner just two minutes into the second period.

Leslie Jones did give the Lady Jackets plenty of opportunities with 8 total shots, 5 on goal. HPU did have 9 corner kicks to just 2 for Southwestern.

Adrienne Walker played all 90 minutes in goal recording six saves in the loss.

Howard Payne is now 2-6 overall and Southwestern stands at 3-8 overall. The Lady Jackets will play next on September 29th at 2:00 pm versus Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
