VB Picks Up 3-1 Non-Conf Win

IRVING, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team got 12 kills from three different players on their way to a 3-1 (25-18,25-22,20-25,25-23) non-conference victory over the University of Dallas Friday evening.

The Lady Jackets started the match strong taking the first set 25-18 behind a .367 attack pct. After taking the second set 25-22, HPu dropped the third 20-25. They would then secure the match winning the fourth set 25-23.

Hannah Hicks, Sarah Bishop and Taylor Jordan each had 12 kills for HPU. Jessica Guerra led in assists with 27 assists and Shelby Bridges added 18 digs.

The win moved head coach Ken Carver to a tie all-time in coaching wins at Howard Payne. The Lady Jackets are now 9-9 overall and will play next on October 2nd at 7:00 pm versus Concordia University Texas in Austin, Texas.
