Jackets Lose At UTD

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne men's basketball team could not recover from a big first half deficit and fell 74-43 to the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday afternoon.

UT-Dallas started the game with a 24-2 run that the Yellow Jackets could not recover from. UT-Dallas also shot 48% from the field while holding the Jackets to just 31%.

Christian Davis led HPU with 12 points and seven rebounds. Brandon Gould followed 11 points and four assists.

UT-Dallas was led by Kyle Schleigh with a game high 25 points and nine rebounds. Nolan Harvey added 10 points and six assists.

HPU now stands at 4-9 overall and 2-5 in ASC action. UT-Dallas improves to 9-4 overall and 5-3 in conference. The Jackets will play at home next Thursday versus Schreiner University at 7:30 pm.
