Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne women's soccer team scored two second period goals to secure a 3-1 conference victory over East Texas Baptist University Thursday afternoon.

Howard Payne outshot East Texas Baptist 12-5 overall and 5-4 in shots on goal. The Lady Jackets also had six corner kicks to two for ETBU.

Tori Moore started the scoring netting a shot off a Kassey Nix corner kick in the 13th minute of the game. ETBU would tie the game at 1-1 in the 26th minute.

After a halftime tie, Erica Lopez would score the game-winning goal on a Stephanie Boggs assist just five minutes into the second period. Taylor Bicknell then scored an insurance goal in the 86th minute and a Erica Lopez assist.

Kelsie Piland got the win in goal for HPU playing all 90 minutes and recording three saves.

Howard Payne is now 4-12-0 overall and ETBU stands at 5-6-1 overall. The Lady Jackets will play next on Saturday November 2nd versus Hardin-Simmons at 1:00 pm. The HPU seniors will be recognized before the match.
