Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn - The Howard Payne men's basketball team fell 99-86 to John Carroll University on day one of the Rhodes College tournament. Howward Payne will play host Rhodes College at noon on Sunday.

Howard Payne's Brandon Gould led all scorers with 22 points. Gould was 6 of 7 from the free-throw line and 7 of 15 from the field. Donovan Ford followed with 20 points on 7 of 13 shooting and 6 of 6 shooting from the line.

The Yellow Jackets were outrebounded 48-38 and each team shot around 45% from the field for the game.  

With 5 of 8 shooting from the floor, Bryan Adams recorded 15 points off the bench for the Jackets. Christian Davis added 10 points and a game high seven rebounds. 

John Carroll was led by Joey Vuyancih with 16 points. Danny Wallack and Will Starks each added 15 points.

Howard Payne is now 2-6 overall and will play tournament host Rhodes College on Sunday at 12:00 noon.
