Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Howard Payne women's basketball team held a seven point lead with a minute remaining but would go on to fall in overtime 93-87 to Illinois Wesleyan university Saturday at the Trinity University Christmas Classic.

Howard Payne led 78-71 with :55 seconds remaing only to have Illinois Wesleyan score seven straight points to force overtime. IWU then outscored the Lady Jackets 15-9 in the overtime period to claim the 93-86 win.

The Lady Jackets led every statistical catagory but turnovers where Illinois Wesleyan forced 26 HPU turnovers while committing 17.

Howard Payne was led by Danyel Bradley with 24 points with three assists and three steals. Britani Gattis followed with 19 points. Yessenia Cazares and Sarahi Castillo each added 12 points. Kalin Hanna led HPU with 14 rebounds and Sarah Van Remmen followed with 12 rebounds.

Shelby Jackson led Illinois Wesleyan with 24 points followed by Colleen McMahon 23 points. Lexi Baltes had 13 assists and 16 rebounds.

Howard Payne is now 5-3 overall and will play nationally ranked George Fox University on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
