HPU WBSK Pick Up Road Win Over Sul Ross State

Box Score ALPINE, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jackets got a game-high 19 points from Dana Marrs to defeat Sul Ross State University 87-70 Tuesday evening.

Howard Payne forced 21 Sul Ross turnovers and the Lady Jacket bench outscored SRSU 44-12.

HPU held their largest lead of the game 65-33 with 14:12 on a Kyndal Broome three pointer.

Following Marrs with 19 points was Britani Gattis and Danyel Bradley each with 10 points. Tresta Donahoo had a game high eight assists.

Sul Ross was led by Amanda Garza with 17 points and six rebounds. Asrelle Anderson and Nicole Murdock each added 14 points.

Howard Payne stands at 19-3 overall and 14-2 in conference. Sul Ross falls to 1-21 overall and 0-21 in conference.

The Lady Jackets will play Hardin-Simmons on Saturday at 1:00 pm in their last regular season home game of the year.

A win for Howard Payne will secure HPU as the host on this year's American Southwest Conference tournament. The HPU seniors will be honored after the game.
