Caraway Records One-hit Shutout Win

BELTON, Texas – Howard Payne's Haleigh Caraway recorded a one hit shutout out win, 1-0, in game one of the Lady Jackets' Saturday double header at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The Lady Jackets fell 9-0 in game two of the double header.

Haleigh Caraway got the complete game shutout win in game one allowing just one hit. Caraway also struck out one and walked none in the outing.

HPU got the only run they needed in the fourth after Katie Poerner reached on a single and then was brought home by a Tylene Middleton single.

In game two the Lady Jackets could not get their bats going, mustering just one hit as a team. Baillie Trumble recorded the loss for HPU in the start throwing 4.0 innings. Keeley Lowrance saw 1.2 innings in relief.

Howard Payne is now 10-9 overall and Mary Hardin-Baylor stands at 8-9 overall. The Lady Jackets will play next at home on March 22-23 versus Concordia Texas in a weekend conference series.
