Men's Tennis Drops Close Match To D-II DBU

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne men's tennis team nearly knocked off NCAA D-II Dallas Baptist University falling in the end 6-3 Saturday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Results

The Yellow Jackets were down 2-1 after doubles play. HPU's Jacob Carrillo and Nolan Ethridge would defeat DBU 8-3 in number three doubles action.

Howard Payne also took the number four and five singles matches to round out their scoring. Nolen Ethridge won 6-0, 7-5 in the 4th spot and Jacob Carrillo won 6-2, 7-5 in the fifth spot.

Howard Payne is now 1-5 overall and will play next on March 8th versus Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
