SEGUIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's team fell to Texas Lutheran University 9-0 in conference team tennis Saturday.

In a 9-0 loss that could have easily gone in the Yellow Jackets favor, HPU narrowly loss the number one, two and four singles matches as well as the number one doubles match.

In number one singles play, Luis Vallecillo fell 7-5, 7-6 (7-5). Will Thomas lost 7-5, 6-1 in the number two singles spot and in the number four single match Nolan Ethridge narrowly lost 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-2).

Luis Vallecillo and Jeremy Rodriguez in number one doubles play fell 9-7.

Howard Payne is now 2-9 overall and 1-3 ASC West Division play. The Yellow Jackets will play next at home on Thursday, April 18th versus Hardin-Simmons at 2:00 pm.
