BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne women's tennis team fell 5-4 to conference opponent Hardin-Simmons University in their regular season finale Thursday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

The Lady Jackets took the number three doubles point when Whitney Turnacliff and Andrea Leonard defeated Amelia Cheney and Shelby Saul of HSU 8-4.

Howard Payne would only be able to gain three of the six singles points to fall 5-4. Joan Burks won in number one singles 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Samantha Guerrero won in number three singles play 6-3, 6-4. Cathryn Rasbury finished off the HPU scoring winning the number six singles point 6-4, 1-6, 10-5.

Howard Payne finishes the season at 3-9 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Hardin-Simmons is now 3-9 overall and 2-1 in conference.
