Women's Tennis Loses To UMHB

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne women's tennis team lost 9-0 to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

With two players out due to injury, the Lady Jackets dropped the number one and two doubles matches 8-1 and 8-5 and the number three doubles match by default.

HPU's Samantha Guerrero in number three singles play would fall 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 in the closest match of the day. Howard Payne would lose the number five and six singles by retirement and by default.

Howard Payne is now 3-7 overall and 1-2 in conference action. The Lady Jackets will play next on April 13th in Seguin versus Texas Lutheran.
