Jackets Fall To Ozarks

Box Score CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas - The Howard Payne soccer team would not be able to recover from a 5-0 halftime deficit dropping a conference matchup with the University of the Ozarks 6-2 Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets found themselves down at the break 5-0 after getting outshot 12-3 in the first period. 

Ozarks would score their sixth goal less than two minutes into the second half. Howard Payne finally answered scoring goals in the 57th and 63rd minutes.

Shay Pate netted his fourth goal of the season at 56:07 and then Eric Young would score his third goal of the season at 62:23.

Ryan Young played all 90 minutes in goal for HPU recording three saves. 

Howard Payne is now1-9-0 overall and Ozarks improves to 6-2-2 overall. HPu will play next at home versus Concordia Texas on Friday, October 4th at 3:00 pm.
