Bicknell Hat Trick Leads To 5-0 Victory

Taylor Bicknell recorded the first hat trick of her career versus Ozarks

Box Score CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas - Howard Payne's Taylor Bicknell scored three goals in a 5-0 Lady Jacket rout of the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon.

Taylor Bicknell would give Howard Payne a 2-0 halftime lead over the University of the Ozarks scoring goals in the 18th and 27th minutes. Taylor's first was a chip shot over the keeper's head, assist Rebecca Lamar with 17:48 on the clock. Bicknell's second came on a header off a Jamie Tish corner kick 26:16 into the game.

Erica Lopez would give HPU a 3-0 lead in the 61st minute scoring her first goal of the season on Jamie Tish's second assist of the match.

Bicknell then scored an unassisted goal just a minute later to complete her first hat trick of her career. Stephanie Boggs then rounded out the Lady Jackets scoring netting her second goal of the season from 25 yards out in the 67th minute.

The Lady Jackets used three goal keepers in the 5-0 shutout. Adrienne Walker got the start playing the entire first half and recording two saves. Kelsie Piland and Shelby Spaulding split time in the second half.

The Howard Payne defensive unit held Ozarks to just five total shots, only two on goal. The HPU offense scored five on just nine total shots.

Howard Payne improves to 2-7-0 overall and 1-1-0 in conference. Ozarks falls to 5-6-0 overall. Howard Payne will play next at home on Friday, October 4th versus Concordia Texas at 1:00 pm.
