WBSK Defeats LeTourneau 71-57

Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne's Sarah Van Remmen and Kalin Hanna each recorded a double-double in the Lady Jackets 71-57 conference victory over LeTourneau University Saturday afternoon in the Brownwood Coliseum.

Howard Payne out-rebounded the taller LeTourneau team 51-38 in the game. The Lady Jackets had 20 offensive rebounds and led LeTourneau 17-0 in second chance points.

The Lady Jackets also forced 22 turnovers while only committing 11. HPU led 26-8 in point off turnovers for the game.

Holding a 34-31 halftime advantage, the Lady Jackets would outscore LeTourneau 37-26 in the second half to post the 71-57 win.

Danyel Bradley led all scorers with 22 points along with nine rebounds, four assists and five steals. Sarah Van Remmen had 13 points and 13 rebounds. Kalin Hanna had 12 points and 11 rebound along with five blocks. Shardena Hudson dished out a game high seven assists off the bench.

LeTourneau was led by Julencia Curtis with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ashley Fajardo had 14 points and Alexis Wighaman added 12 points.

Howard Payne improves to 9-6 overall and 8-4 in conference. LeTourneau falls to 6-7 overall and 4-6 in ASC play. The Lady Jackets will play at home next Thursday, January 23rd versus Mary Hardin-Baylor at 5:30 pm.
