Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne's Christian Davis scored a season high 17 points to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 83-67 conference win over the University of the Ozarks Thursday evening in the Brownwood Coliseum.

After the Yellow Jackets led by 11 in the first half, Ozarks battled back to tie the game at 29-29 at the break. Howard Payne shot just 29% from the field in the first half but would connect on 53% of their shots in the second half to secure the game.

Foul trouble by Ozarks allowed the Jackets to get to the free-throw line 16 more times that the Eagles. Howard Payne was 27 of 36 from the free-throw line for the game.

Christian Davis paced the Jackets with a season high 17 points. Bryan Adams had 16 points and three assists, he was 6 of 6 from the free-throw line. Brandon Gould had 15 points and four assists. Donovan Ford added 14 points.

Ozarks was led by Jordan Walker with 11 points and four assists. Ted Beard grabbed a game high 16 rebounds.

Howard Payne is now 3-7 overall and 3-4 in ASC play. Ozarks stands at 4-5 overall and 2-4 in conference. The Jackets will play the University of Texas at Tyler on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
