Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne's Brandon Gould scored a game high 19 points and recorded his 1,000th career point in a 91-83 conference loss Saturday afternoon to Concordia University Saturday in the Brownwood Coliseum.

After being down 49-37 at the half, the Yellow Jackets went on a 16-0 run minutes into the second half to gain a 59-57 lead with 12:49 to play in the game.

With the game tied at 70-70, Concordia went on a 7-0 run to lead 77-70 with 6:00 to play. Concordia would go 8 for 10 from the free-throw line in the final minutes to claim the game 91-83.

HPU's Brandon Gould scored his 1,000th career point as a Yellow Jacket on a free-throw in the first half. Gould finished with a game high 19 points and five steals. Donovan Ford had 16 points and Quelan Lancaster followed with 15 points. Jorden Young had 13 and Blake Arbogast added 10 points and four assists off the bench. Nigele Robertson pulled down a game high nine rebounds.

Concordia was led by Jared Galvan with15 points. Josh Sanchez had 14 and Andre Potts had 13. Dwayne Patterson added 12 points and a game high seven assists.

Howard Payne is now 4-13 overall and 4-10 in conference. Concordia stands at 13-4 overall and 10-4 in conference. The Jackets will host Hardin-Simmons on January 30th at 7:30 pm in the Brownwood Coliseum.
