CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas - Howard Payne's Kevin Riuz scored the game winning goal in the Yellow Jackets 1-0 victory over the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon in conference play.

Kevin Ruiz found the back of the net in the 39th minute off a free kick from 25 yards out after the ball bounced off an Ozarks defender. It was the first goal of the season for Ruiz, who finished the match with four shots, three on goal.

Brice Gardner recorded 11 saves in the shut-out victory, It was the third recorded shutout for Gardner this season.

Howard Payne is now 3-9-1 overall and 2-6-1 in ASC action. The University of the Ozarks falls to 8-6-2 overall and 4-2-1 conference. The Yellow Jackets will play next on Friday, Oct. 31st at home versus East Texas Baptist starting at 3:00 pm.
