ABILENE, Texas – Howard Payne was defeated 2-0 by the University of Texas at Tyler Saturday in the semi-final match of the 2014 American Southwest Conference women's soccer tournament.

Two goals in a six minute span was all the scoring UT-Tyler needed to defeat the Jackets in the semi-final match.

HPU keeper Kelsie Piland recorded seven saves in the loss. Taylor Bicknell and Courtney Turner logged a shot each for the Lady Jackets.

On the day, UT Tyler totaled 19 shots, nine of which were on-goal, while Howard Payne recorded two shots on the day.

Howard Payne finishes the season at 10-8-1 overall and UT-Tyler stands at 13-1-2 overall.
