Jackets Fall At UT-Dallas

Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas – Second half shooting woes for Howard Payne, led to a 95-70 conference loss for the Yellow Jackets to #24 University of Texas at Dallas Saturday afternoon at the UTD Activity Center.

After shooting 51% from the field in the first half, Howard Payne only managed 29% from the field in the second. UT-Dallas hit 16 three-point buckets in the game while the Jackets only connected on six.

Howard Payne tied up the game at 24-24 with UTD with 10:29 left in the first half. UTD would put together a run and lead 55-42 at the half.

The Jackets were also outrebounded 47-26 by the Comets. Nineteen of UTD's rebounds were on the offensive glass.

HPU's Brandon Gould led all scorers with 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Quelan Lancaster and Donovan Ford each had 18 points. Lancaster also had a career high six blocks.

Kyle Schleigh finished with 18 points, ten rebounds and six assists for UTD. Carter Nash had 15 points and ten rebounds. Matthew Medell added 13 points.

Howard Payne now stands at 4-15 overall and 4-12 in conference. UTD is 17-2 overall and 15-1 in ASC play. Howard Payne will be next on February 6th at the University of Texas at Tyler.
