Jackets Lose 9-0 To Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Howard Payne men's tennis team fell 9-0 to Southwestern University Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Yellow Jackets played Southwestern much closer than the final team score indicated dropping two doubles matches 8-4 and losing two singles matches in three sets.

HPU's Andrew Harding and Will Thomas fell in number one doubles 8-4 and Drew Lambert and Jacob Carrillo dropped their number three doubles match 8-4.

In number four singles, Edgar Torres lost in three sets 6-7, 7-5, 10-2. Marshal McIntosh would also fall in three in the number six singles spot 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.

Howard Payne is now 0-2 to start the year and will take on next the University of Texas at Dallas on Feb 21st starting at 12:00 (noon) at the Nabers Tennis Center.
