GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Howard Payne women's tennis team drops a non-conference match 7-2 to Southwestern University Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets started the day by taking the number double. HPU's Chesney Goza and Brittany Walker defeated Southwestern's Aimee Blake and Elizabeth Ellis 8-5.

After dropping the two other doubles matched 8-0 and 8-2, Chesney Goza would narrowly lose the number one single spot 3-6, 6-2, 11-9.

Samantha Guerrero, with her second singles win of the season, won 6-3, 7-5 in the number three double spot. No other Lady Jackets would be able to pick up a team point.

Howard Payne is now 0-2 to start the year and will take on next the University of Texas at Dallas on Feb 21st starting at 12:00 (noon) at the Nabers Tennis Center.
