Lady Jackets Defeat LeTourneau 85-66

Box Score LONGVIEW, Texas – Howard Payne's Danyel Bradley poured in a game high 22 points for the Lady Jackets in a 85-66 conference win over LeTourneau University Thursday evening.

Howard Payne never led in the contest opening up 11-0 lead to start the game. The Lady Jackets would not allow LeTourneau to score a field goal till five minutes into the game.

Howard Payne was 7 of 12 from the three-point line in the first half and would hit 9 of 22 for the game (41%).

Leading 40-33 at the break, Howard Payne built a 23-point lead midway through the second half. The Lady Jackets defense kept LeTourneau scoreless from behind the arc (0 for 15) for the game.

Danyel Bradley add six rebounds, eight assists and three steals to her game high 22 points. Britani Gattis followed 20 points and four steals. Shardena Hudson added 11 points and five assists.

LeTourneau was led by Rebecca Stewart with 11 points and nine rebounds. Jelencia Curtis and Meagan Peter each added 10 points.

Howard Payne improves to 15-9 overall and 14-7 in conference action. LeTourneau stands at 9-14 overall and 7-13 in ASC play. The Lady Jackets will finish out the regular season this Saturday at East Texas Baptist at 1:00 pm. HPU was already secured their play in the ASC tournament in Tyler, Texas next week.
