Softball Drops Series Opener At UMHB

Box Score BELTON, Texas – The Howard Payne softball team was held hitless in a 9-0 conference loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday evening.

The game remained close until UMHB added to their 1-0 with three runs in the third. UMHB then added two in the fourth and three more in the fifth to round out their scoring.

Taylor Rushing got the loss for the Lady Jackets giving up eight runs on 10 hits. Morgan Ashmore saw time in the fifth frame.

UMHB's Rebekah Taylor recorded the complete game no hitter allowing just one walk.

Howard Payne is now 2-6 overall and UMHB stands at 2-5 overall. The two teams will play a double header on Saturday starting at 12:00 pm.
