Lady Jackets Drop Match To TLU

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne women's tennis team fell 7-2 to Texas Lutheran University despite having lost two points by default Thursday afternooon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Due to injury Howard Payne would drop the number three doubles match and number six singles match by default. The rest of the Lady Jacket team faired well despite the two points lost picking up the number two doubles point and number three singles.

Samantha Guerrero and Whitney Turnacliff defeated Ashlynn Long and Leah Howell of TLU 8-4 in the number two double spot.

Guerrero would also take her number three singles match  6-1, 6-0 over Ashlynn Long of Texas Lutheran.

Howard Payne is now 0-5 overall and Texas Lutheran stands at 2-1 on the year. The Lady Jackets will play again at home on Saturday versus East Texas Baptist starting at 9:00 am.
