Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne softball team lost 1-4 and 0-11 to national ranked East Texas Baptist University Friday afternoon at Lady Jacket field.

ETBU gained a 2-0 advantage after scoring single runs in the first and third innings. Howard Payne was just down 2-0 going into the seventh frame.

ETBU would scored two in the top of the inning to lead 4-0. Howard Payne would get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the inning when Bailey Miller reached on an error by the shortstop allowing Priscilla Patino to score.

Jessica Morales was 2-for-3 from the plate for Howard Payne. Tayler Rushing got the loss in the start giving uo four runs on seven hits. Rushing struckout five and walked none.

It was all ETBU in game two scoring four runs in the first, five in the fourth and two in the fifth on twelve total hits.

Adrienne Sanchez got the loss for HPU giving up eight runs on seven hit. Morgan Ashmore saw time in relief giving up three runs on five hits.

Howard Payne is now 2-10 overall and ETBU stands at 8-0 overall. The two teams will play a single game on Saturday at 12:00 noon at Lady Jacket Field.
