SB Drops Season Opener To Pacific

Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne softball team dropped their season opener 8-0 to visiting Pacific University Saturday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field.

Pacific jumped out to an early 6-0 lead scoring four runs in the first and two in the second. Howard Payne would be unable to get any offense going recording just three hits in the game,

Amanda Gober, Pricilla Patino and Tayler Rushing each had hits for the Lady Jackets. Pacific recorded nine hits as a team.

Starting Howard Payne pitcher Morgan Ashmore would leave the game in the second after giving up six runs on four hits in Pacific's first two at bats. Tayler Rushing threw the next four frames for the Lady Jackets allowing two runs on five hits. Each struckout one batter.

Howard Payne will play a double header Austin College on Sunday starting at 1:30 pm at Lady Jackets Field.
