SB Finishes Series With ETBU

Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne softball team lost the series finale with #8 ranked East Texas Baptist University 8-2 Saturday afternoon at Lady Jacket Field.

East Texas Baptist opened up a 6-0 lead after two innings scoring five in the first and one in the second. 

The Lady Jackets scored one in the fourth when Priscilla Patino doubled to left field to score Amanda Gober. After ETBU added two more runs in the top of the sixth, HPU then added another run on a Talyer Rushing single through the right side to score Tiffani San Miguel.

Tayler Rushing got the loss for Howard Payne in the complete game. She struckout two and walked two. Jessica Morales and Amanda Gober also had hits for Howard Payne.

Howard Payne is now 2-11 on the year and ETBU stands at 9-0 overall. The Lady Jackets will play next weekend in Tyler, Texas versus the University of Texas at Tyler.
