UT-Dallas opened a 2-1 lead after two innings scoring two in the first and one in the second. The Lady Jackets answered with two in the third to pull within one, 2-3,

An Amanda Gober sac bunt scored Jessica Morales and then a Shandi Winstead single allowed Pricilla Patino to cross the plate.

After UTD went up 4-2 in the fourth, Howard Payne added another to their total scoring one in the fifth. Tayler Rushing would reach on a fielder's choice to score Amanda Gober. 4-3 UTD

The Comets added another run in the seventh to go up by two. The Lady Jackets could not get anyone across the plate in their final at bat and fell 5-3.

Jessica Morales and Pricilla Patino each had two hits for the Lady Jackets. Tyler Rushing got the loss for HPU giving up five runs on nine hits.

Howard Payne is now 2-15 overall and 1-12 in conference, UTD stands at 6-8 overall and 5-8 in league play. Both teams will play a double tomorrow starting at 10:00 am.
