BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne women's tennis team defeated Friends University 9-0 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

Friends University would play the match down two players thus the Lady Jackets would start the match up 4-0. Howard Payne took care of business and won all the remaining matches.

In the number one spot, Chesney Goza won 0-6, 6-0, 10-5. Brittany Walker won 6-1, 6-2 in the number two spot. Samantha Guerrero won 6-2, 6-0 in the three spot and Whitney Turnacliff won 6-1, 6-0 in the number four singles spot.

In doubels action, Chesney Goza and Brittany Walker won 8-1 in the number one doubles spot and Samantha Guerrero and Whitney Turnacliff in the number two spot won 8-1.

Howard Payne is now 3-6 overall on the year and Friends stands at 1-6 overall. The Jackets will play next at home on March 28th at 1:00 pm versus Sul Ross State.
