SB Loses Series Finale With CTX

Box Score AUSTIN, Texas - The Howard Payne softball team fell 13-3 in five innings to Concordia University Texas saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference action.

Pricilla Patino was 2-for-3 from the plate for the Lady Jackets. Taylor Rushing got the loss for HPU in the circle.

The Lady Jackets scored in their opening at bat when Erin McLeod singled to right score Jessica Morales.

Concordia scored two in the bottom of the first, six in the second and five in the fifth to take a 13-1 lead.

Howard Payne added two more runs in the fifth on a Cherita George RBI double to left center and an Erin McLeod sacrifice fly to center field.

Howard Payne is now 2-20 overall and 1-17 in conference play. Concordia stands at 12-11 overall and 10-8 in ASC action. The Lady Jackets will be back at home next weekend versus the University of the Ozarks. Double header on Friday starting at 1:00 pm and a single on saturday starting at 12:00 noon.
