Women's Tennis Finishes Regular Season At HSU

ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne women's tennis team finished their regular season with a 7-2 loss to Hardin-Simmons University Friday afternoon in conference action at the Streich Tennis Center.

Howard Payne's Chesney Goza and Brittony Walker would take the number one doubles match 8-5. HPU dropped the other two doubles matches 8-1 and 8-4.

Samantha Guerrero defeated Jenna Smith of HSU in three sets 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 in number three singles play. Chesney Goza played tough in the number one singles spot for HPU falling 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.

Howard Payne is now 5-10 overall and 4-6 in conference going into the conference tournament. Hardin-Simmons is 6-10 overall and 5-3 in ASC play. The ASC Championship Tournament will be held on April 24th - 27th at the University of Texas at Tyler. Official tournament bracket will be released next week.
