Lady Jackets Season Ends In 1st Rd Of ASC Tourney

TYLER, Texas - The Howard Payne women's tennis team fell 6-0 in the opening round of the American Southwest Conference championship tournament to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday morning.

The Lady Jackets started the day dropping all three doubles matches. It was HPU's Chesney Goza and Brittony Walker who played the closest falling 8-6 to Chaley Shiffler and Hannah Warren of UMHB.

The bottom three spots of the ladder would finish their singles matches first with the top three spots were unfinished with the match being decided. 

In number four singles, Angelie Juaneza  of UMHB defeated Whitney Turnacliff 6-1, 6-1. Tiffany Bullock lost to Elizabeth Ostroff of UMHB 6-2, 6-1.
In the five singles spot. In number six singles, Haley Hicks defeated Howard Payne's Devin Mendelson 6-0, 6-1.

Howard Payne ends their season at 5-11 overall and 4-6 in conference play.
