BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Jacket men's soccer team finished the 2015 season with a 4-1 win against Louisiana College on Saturday afternoon.
Howard Payne collected 22 total shots with 14 being on goal to LC's 18 shots.
Alex Sanchez got the Jackets on the board first by netting a goal in the 19th minute assisted by
Tracer Moore.
Ruben Lemus followed in the 24th minute with a goal assisted by Sanchez. Moore would go on to pick up a goal off a penalty kick in the 29th minute giving the Jackets a 3-0 halftime lead. Louisiana College would score first in the 2nd half with a goal from Boneco Bazil in the 57th minute.
Reid Longabaugh scored the final goal of the match in the 86th minute with a header assisted by
Daniel Torres.
Senior
Shay Pate led offensive attack for Howard Payne as he had seven total shots with two being on goal in his final soccer match for Howard Payne.
Alex Sanchez had five shots with four on goal including a goal.
Ruben Lemus and
Tracer Moore each had three shots with three on goal and each picked up a goal in the match. Senior goal keeper
Allan Chehadi played the full 90 minutes picking up four saves and allowing one goal in his final game as a Yellow Jacket soccer player.
For Louisiana College, Boneco Bazil had six shots with three on goal. Adan Olivares had five with three on goal. Nathan Gautreaux played the entire game in goal allowing four goals and picking up 10 saves.
The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets end the 2015 season with a 4-10-1 record while holding a 2-8-1 conference record on the year.
