LONGVIEW, Texas - Four errors led to a 5-0 loss to LeTourneau University for the Howard Payne softball team Saturday afternoon to wrap up the weekend series.
After being walked three times and recording four hits as a team, the Lady Jackets would strand eight runners in the game. HPU stranded the bases loaded in the sixth and two more runners in the seventh.
LeTourneau scored one run in the first and two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings to round out their scoring.
Clese Tirres (1-3) got the loss for HPU giving up five runs on six hits and striking out three.

Kodi Glosson each had one hit for the Lady Jackets.
Howard Payne is 3-4 overall and LeTourneau stands at 6-2 overall after the weekend series. The Lady Jackets will play next on Feb 20-21 in a home conference series with Mary Hardin-Baylor. The teams will play a double header on Friday starting at 1:00 pm and a single game on Saturday at 12:00 noon.
