BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team fell in its season opener with Concordia University Texas 9-0 Saturday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center

The Yellow Jackets started the day dropping the three doubles matches 8-0, 8-0 and 8-2. Howard Payne would fall in straight sets in all the singles matches.

Andrew Lambert, in number two singles play for the Jackets, was the most competative match of the day falling 6-3, 7-5 to Victor Escalon of Concordia.

Howard Payne will play next on Saturday, February 6th versus Austin College, a neutral site match in Abilene, Texas. It will be a 3:00 pm start time for the women's and men's teams.
