PINEVILLE, Louisiana – Howard Payne University received goals from Kaitlyn Harrison, Taylor Bicknell and Rachel Crane during a 3-1 victory at Louisiana College on Thursday evening. 

After dropping their final home match vs. UT-Tyler, things got started quickly for the Jackets as Taylor Bicknell was able to get two shots on goal in the games first nine minutes (1st and 8th minute respectively.) 

In the games 22nd minute, sophomore Kaitlyn Harrison was able to sneak past her defender and place a ball deep into the back of the net to put Howard Payne up 1-0. It was Harrison's first goal as a Yellow Jacket and she was also able to add an assist later in the match to cap a fantastic performance. 

Howard Payne (5-10-1) continued to keep pressure on the Wildcats backline for the rest of the half, collecting seven more shots on goal while holding Louisiana College (0-14-2) to just two shots and one shot on goal. 

The second half began with the Lady Jackets collecting two shots on goal in the half's first five minutes. Kaitlyn Harrison's shot sailed high in the 46th minute and Taylor Bicknell's shot was saved by the Wildcats goalkeeper. 

Louisiana College was not deterred after the two early shots and continued to pressure the Howard Payne defense. Eventually, they were able to get a goal past goalkeeper Nicole Goodwin in the 52nd minute to notch the match up at 1-1. 

Not wanting the victory to slip away, the Yellow Jackets collected three shots on goal immediately following the Wildcats goal. Taylor Bicknell had been on attack the entire game, having registered seven shots and five shots on goal before she was able to sneak one past the goalkeeper in the 56th minute to help Howard Payne regain the lead, 2-1.  

The Jackets never looked back and continued to attack the Wildcat defense until Rachel Crane took the ball from Kaitlyn Harrison, created some space and scored the goal in the 64th minute. The goal put the Jackets up 3-1.  

The defense locked down, only giving up two more shots in the matches final 26 minutes as they held on to pick up their fifth win of the season. 

Rachel Crane's goal was her second goal of the season and her sixth goal as a Yellow Jacket. She was also able to add an assist and finished with four shots and two shots on goal in the match.  

In total, Howard Payne out shot Louisiana College 26-8 and picked up their highest goal tally of the season with three. 

Taylor Bicknell finished with nine shots, eight of them on frame and picked up her 14th goal as a Yellow Jacket in the victory. 

Goalkeeper Nicole Goodwin had three saves and Kaitlyn Harrison finished with one goal on four shots and two shots on frame. Darbi Frazier and Dayane Gutierrez each finished with three shots and one shot on goal.
