PINEVILLE, Louisiana - The Howard Payne University softball team fell in the final game with Louisiana College 3-1 Saturday afternoon in conference action.

Howard Payne and Louisiana College each tallied six hits and one error in the game. Louisiana College got its hits early in the game scoring one run in the first and two in the second.

The Lady Jackets got on the scoreboard in the third when Sabrina Ochoa doubled to right center to score Rachel Hitt.

Rachel Hitt finished 2-for-3 from the plate for Howard Payne. Celese Tirres (6-5) got the loss for the Lady Jackets allowing three runs on six hits.

Howard Payne is now 7-7 overall and 4-5 in American Southwest Conference play. LC stands at 10-2 overall and 8-1 in league action. The Lady Jackets will play next on March 4-5 at home versus East Texas Baptist University.
