Lady Jackets Drop Finale 4-0

LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne University softball team fell 4-0 in its season finale at LeTourneau University Saturday afternoon on the road.

Howard Payne matched LeTourneau in the hits category with six but the Lady Jackets stranded six runners and fell 4-0 in the weekend conference finale.

LeTourneau scored single runs in the second and third innings and two in the sixth to round out its scoring. 

Six different Lady Jackets recorded a hit. Celese Tirres got the loss in the start allowing four runs on six hits in six innings of work. She had four strike outs and no walks in the complete game.

Howard Payne finishes the season at 16-22 overall and 13-20 in American Southwest Conference play. LeTourneau stands at 20-20 overall and 17-13 in league action.
