BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's soccer team could not find the net and fell 1-0 to East Texas Baptist University Thursday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Field.

Despite opportunities down the stretch and gaining four corner kicks to ETBU's two, the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets fell on an ETBU goal just seconds before the end of the first period (44:32).

For the match, East Texas Baptist led in shots 10-6 overall and in shots on goal 4-3.

Tracer Moore and Michael Westerman each had two shots for the Jackets. Collin Salyers and Dylan Person added one shot each.

Andrew Hackney recorded three saves and allowed the one goal in the start in goal. 

Howard Payne is now 5-8-0 overall and 3-7-0 in American Southwest Conference action. ETBU stands at 6-7-3 overall and 2-6-2 in conference play. The Jackets will finish out the regular season on Saturday at home versus LeTourneau University at 3:30 pm. It will be Senior Day and the two HPU seniors will be recognized before the match.
