BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team fell 9-0 to non-conference opponent Schreiner University Friday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.
Despite losing 9-0 in the match to Schreiner, the Jackets were competitive. Howard Payne fell in the number one and number two doubles matches each by an 8-3 score.
In number one singles play, HPU's
Edgar Torres fell 6-2, 6-2.Â
Gabe Benitez narrowly lost 6-4, 6-3 in number three singles action and in the number five singles spotÂ
Noah Marlin lost 6-2, 6-2.

Howard Payne is now 0-9 overall on the year and Schreiner stands at 11-5. The Jackets will play next on March 31st in Abilene versus conference opponent Hardin-Simmons at 2:00 pm.
