Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne University volleyball team fell to the University of Texas at Tyler 3-2 and defeated Louisiana College 3-0 on day one of the American Southwest Conference Crossover Tournament hosted by LeTourneau University.

The Lady Jackets dropped heartbreaker 3-2  (17-25,25-20,27-25,18-25,7-15) to the University of Texas at Tyler to start the day. Zhartezia Bradley played a huge roll in the Lady Jackets going to five sets with the Patriots posting 21 kills and six blocks for Howard Payne. She was followed closely by Jordan Rogers with a season high 20 kills.

Cheyanne Lovelady had a match high 49 assists and Jordan Livingston had a match high 26 digs.

It was all Lady Jackets in their second match pf the day defeating Louisiana College 3-0 (25-12,25-17,25-21). Bradley led again in kills with ten followed by McKenna Walker and Jordan Rogers with six each. Rogers and Bradley each had four blocks and Lovelady finished with 14 assists.

Howard Payne is now 4-10 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Lady Jackets will play host LeTourneau University on Saturday at 12:00 noon to finish over the tournament.
