MARSHALL, Texas- Howard Payne University's woman's soccer team took a tough 0-2 loss in their final game of the season at East Texas Baptist University Saturday evening.

East Texas Baptist was able to get ahead of the Lady Jackets in the 12th minute of the first period. Ending the first half 0-1, the Yellow Jackets barely trailed behind ETBU entering the second half in total shots 4-5.

Gaining more shot attempts in the second period, ETBU was able to score off a shot in the box in the 79th minute, ending the match 0-2.

The Lady Jackets trailed in total shots in the match 18-6 (8-4 shots on goal) and 11-0 to ETBU in corner kicks.

Lesly Garcia led HPU with three shots, one on goal. Dayane Gutierrez followed with two shots both on goal. Keeper Delaney Castor recorded six saves in the loss.

Howard Payne ends the season 2-12-2 overall and 2-8-1 in America Southwest Conference play while East Texas Baptist stands at 8-7-1 overall.
