AUSTIN, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's tennis team fell 9-0 to the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon at the Whitaker Tennis Center.
In a match that was delay due to weather, the Yellow Jackets started the day by dropping all three doubles points. The number one HPU doubles team of
Gabe Benitez and
Benjamin Blanchard was the most competitive falling 8-5.
Blanchard also played solid in number two singles for the Jackets losing 6-4, 6-4 to Cole Lankford of Ozarks. Howard Payne would drop all the singles points in straight sets.
Howard Payne is now-0-7 to start the season and Ozarks now stands at 2-0 on the year. The Jackets will play next at home on Sat. Feb 24th versus Dallas Baptist University at 10:00 am.
