BROWNWOOD, Texas - Howard Payne University's
Khyce Randall scored 26 points in a 91-73 loss to ASC West Division leader Sul Ross State University Saturday afternoon in the Brownwood Coliseum.
Sul Ross State capitalized on turnovers and outscored Howard Payne 46-34 in the paint while connecting on just over 50% of shots from the field. The Yellow Jackets shot 41.5% from the field in the game and were 5 of 16 from behind the arc on the night.
The game remained close throughout the first half but the Logos made a late push to hold a 44-34 advantage at the break.
Sul Ross went on to lead by as much as 22 five minutes into the second half. Though the Jackets cut the Sul Ross lead to 11, 63-52 with with just under 10 minutes to play, Sul Ross would still hold on for the 91-73 final.

Khyce Randall led the Jackets with 26 points along with five rebounds and three assists.
Thomas Bingham added 13 points and a team high eight rebounds. Jarvaris Jones and
Darren Farmer followed with eight points each.
Caleb Thomasson led Sul Ross with 26 points and seven rebounds. C.J. Ross and B.J. Hollis each added 16 points. Tristen Licon had 14 points and Stephen Walker had six assists.
Howard Payne is now 8-13 overall and 4-9 in ASC play. Sul Ross stands at 16-5 overall and 11-2 in league action. The Jackets will be on the road next week in Abilene at McMurry University on Thursday at 7:30 pm and at Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
